Terms of Service

1. About these terms

TimeQuest (timequest.fun) is run by Double Black Media Ltd, a company registered in New Zealand ("we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between you and us. By using TimeQuest, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use TimeQuest.

2. Who can play

You must be at least 13 years old to use TimeQuest. If you're under 18, you need your parent or guardian's permission.

3. The game

TimeQuest is free to play and is supported by advertising. We publish a new game each day, but we can't promise the game will always be available, error-free or unchanged. We may change, pause or stop TimeQuest, or any part of it, at any time.

4. Your account

You can play as a guest or sign in with Google to save your history and appear on the leaderboard. Keep your sign-in secure and use one account per person. You're responsible for what happens under your account.

5. Player names

Your player name is shown publicly. It must not be offensive, hateful or sexual, pretend to be someone else, contain someone's personal information, or infringe anyone's rights. We may change or remove a player name, or suspend an account, if we think these rules have been broken.

6. Fair play

Please don't:

• use bots, scripts or other automation to play or to collect answers;
• exploit bugs, or try to see answers before you guess;
• copy, scrape or republish our questions and answers;
• interfere with TimeQuest or other players, or try to access systems you shouldn't.

We may remove scores, suspend accounts or block access if we see this happening.

7. Our content

The questions, answers, design, software and the TimeQuest name belong to us or the people who license them to us. You may use TimeQuest for your own personal, non-commercial enjoyment. Sharing your results (the score and emoji text TimeQuest creates for you) is very welcome.

8. Accuracy of questions

We research every question carefully, but mistakes can happen. If a question turns out to be wrong, we may correct or void it, which can change scores and leaderboard positions. Our decision on scores is final.

9. Other services

Signing in with Google, ads shown on TimeQuest, and any links to other websites are governed by those services' own terms. Ads are provided by third parties, and we're not responsible for the products, services or websites they promote.

10. No warranties

TimeQuest is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises about it beyond those in these terms. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986 or other laws that can't be excluded.

11. No liability

You use TimeQuest at your own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Double Black Media Ltd and its directors, employees and suppliers are not liable to you for any loss or damage of any kind, whether direct, indirect or consequential, and whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, arising from or connected with TimeQuest or these terms. This includes loss of data, scores, profit or opportunity, and applies even if we were told such loss was possible.

This doesn't exclude any liability or rights that cannot be excluded by law (see section 10).

12. Ending things

You can stop using TimeQuest at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing hello@timequest.fun. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll let players know on the site. If you keep using TimeQuest after a change, you accept the updated terms.

14. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and the courts of New Zealand have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
